Artificial Plants: a Botanic Garden

Artificial Plants: A Botanic Garden’ is a poster for Daeki Shim’s solo exhibition, which is one of BDB’s projects, sponsored by CA Books and PH Gallery. The artwork in the exhibit involves designing a habitat where living and non-living things coexist in a space where the virtual and the real overlap, imagining what it would be like to live there.

The main image presented in this poster is a visualization of the initials of Universal Design. The graphic used as initials is designed in three stages, each implying the following meanings: 1) the proposal of a new life culture based on Universal Design, 2) design for the socially disadvantaged, and 3) design for the physically disadvantaged. The moving image expresses the blurring of these three stages’ boundaries, signifying the disappearance of prejudice.

Here & Now : Global Illustration Show

This poster is designed to promote the international illustration exhibition. Here and now, the works of famous contemporary illustrators are exhibited. The posters printed on the mirror not only draw the audience’s attention but also allow them to share images on social media, serving as a promotion for the exhibition.

This online poster and banner design was designed for the promotion of the ‘Seoul Typography Competition’ on behalf of ‘Show Us Your Type,’ based in Berlin, Germany.

TE13 : Photo & Typography

This poster was designed to promote an exhibition entitled ‘TE13 : Photo & Typography’ hosted by the Korean Society of Typography. The Korean letters (Hangul) used in this poster convey the meaning of ‘photo and typography.’ We incorporated graphic elements associated with the word ‘photo,’ such as flash icons, alongside the exhibition title.

Daeki Shim of DAEKI and JUN served as the external exhibition director of the ‘Korea Typography Society of Typography (KST)’ and was responsible for the overall planning and management of the international exhibitions “TE13: Photography and Typography (2018)” and “TE12 (2017)”.
